Green Week 2016: Food Dialogue in Hall 22a
Cooking shows and “Food Dialogue” on the combined stand of the BLL and BVE
Berlin, 10 November 2015 – At the International Green Week Berlin 2016 on the combined stand of the two leading organisations representing the German food industry the spotlight will be on food processing. From 15 to 24 January the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and the Federation of Food Law and Food Science (BLL) will inviting visitors to engage in a dialogue on every aspect concerning the food we eat.
The focus of the display under the heading of the “Food Dialogue” will be the event plaza with its cooking shows and the stage where the dialogue will be taking place. Every day at numerous cooking shows well-known chefs will be preparing a wide range of dishes which visitors will be able to sample. School classes in particular will be invited not only to watch but to take part as well. They will be able to prepare ingredients at various cooking stages for the chefs. With these activities the BVE and BLL aim to whet younger visitors’ appetites for cooking, to show how fresh produce and processed foods can be combined, what to pay attention to when preparing and storing food, and how to actively avoid food waste by cooking leftovers. Giving the food we eat some closer thought is the first step towards consciously dealing with our own diets and consequently achieving a healthy lifestyle.
For visitors who would rather be entertained than participate themselves a fascinating programme of stage events with various discussion rounds and guests representing politics, science and business will have information on topics such as food security, sustainability, quality, food eating trends and much, much more.
Texts and images on the key topics of food waste and food security will round off the information available on the stand. What does the “best before“ date really mean? What efforts are being undertaken by the industry to reduce food waste? What characterises proper food hygiene? These are just some of the questions to which visitors can get answers. Experts representing both organisations will also be on hand to engage in a dialogue about food on every day of the fair.
