4th FN National Stallion Show for Sport Ponies features 90 of the best in their class

Berlin, 21 October 2014 – The International Green Week Berlin 2015 (16 – 25 Jan.) begins with an outstanding highlight in the Livestock Hall, No. 25. From 16 to 18 January some 90 stallions will be competing for the title of national champion at the 4th FN National Stallion Show for Sport Ponies. The competition is open to stallions of between four and twelve years of age in the following breeds: German Riding Pony, New Forest Pony, Connemara Pony and Welsh Pony in Sections B and D. Participating stallions must be registered in the Stallion Book I of a breeding association recognised by the German Equestrian Association (FN). Pre-selection of the participating stallions takes place at a regional level among the various breeding associations.

The competitions are subdivided into competitive shows for the specific breeds in which not only the overall appearance but also the two gaits, walking and trotting, are assessed, as well as sporting competitions in which the stallions are judged while free jumping and with a saddle. A national winner will be chosen from among the registered breeds, as well as one winner each in the categories of jumping, dressage and eventing. Details of the invitation to compete in these events and the conditions of participation are available from the relevant breeding associations. A diverse programme of shows involving the participating stallions is also planned. And, of course, a wide range of information about horse and pony breeding and about all aspects of equestrian sport is available on the stand of the German Equestrian Association and the participating associations in Hall 25.

The German Equestrian Association (Deutsche Reiterliche Vereinigung e.V.) is the national association for equestrian sport and breeding. Its international designation is Fédération Équestre Nationale, known by the abbreviation FN.
