Adobe Reader

Internet Explorer 8 and 9
In versions 8 and 9, the Internet Explorer has different default settings for opening PDFs. You’ll need to change them under Properties > Manage Add-Ons. Under Add-On types, select the option Toolbars and Extensions. In the Display/Show menu, select the option All Add-Ons. Now select Adobe PDF Reader from the list of Add-Ons. Click the Activate button - this sets up the Adobe-Reader-Add-On to open PDF-files in the browser.

Google Chrome
Enter chrome://plugins in the address bar of your Google Chrome browser. Now search for an Adobe PDF plugin and then click Activate.

MozillaFirefox
Starting with version 22 of MozillaFirefox, the browser has different default settings for opening PDFs with the browser plugin. Change these default settings under Extras > Settings > Applications and select Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) for the Portable Document Format (PDF).

Apple Safari
Select a PDF file in the Finder and click on File > Information. Open the product menu by clicking on the arrow next to Open with. Now choose either Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader from the application menu. Click the Change all button. Confirm that all such documents should be opened the same way by clicking on Next.
