Green Week 2016: The farming industry – a provider of raw materials
nature.tec offers an insight into the many different uses of renewable raw materials
Berlin, 9 November 2015 – The domestic farming industry not only provides foodstuffs and animal feed. It is also an important supplier of technical materials. That is something that nature.tec, the special show on the biobased economy, will be demonstrating at the International Green Week Berlin 2016. From 15 to 24 January ministries, institutions, associations and companies will be providing an insight into the many different uses of renewable materials. These include biogas, biofuels, modern wood-burning heaters, domestic items made from bioplastic, renewable building materials as well as biolubricants for forestry equipment. Topics will include cultivating and growing plants that supply energy and raw materials as well as individual technical aspects of manufacturing products made from renewable materials. The question as to whether biomass can be used to create renewable energy will also be addressed at nature.tec in Hall 4.2.
Informative exhibits and fascinating activities will be inviting visitors to give these topics, which are very important for our future, some further thought. Furthermore, on weekday mornings school classes can take part in a special programme that includes activities and offers in-depth information on renewable raw materials and bioenergy.
