LEBENSMITTEL PRAXIS and International Green Week honour exemplary regional concepts which encourage the sustainable marketing of local foods with the award “REGIONAL-STAR”.
The demand for local food increases steadily. According to a Forsa survey by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, about three quarters of Germans place value on regionally produced food. The desire for transparency and proximity to the producers is decisive. Consumers look for more freshness and protection of the environment by means of reduced transport routes. They would like to strengthen the local economy and simply taste their own homeland.
Therefore, outstanding concepts with regional character from the sectors trading, industry and agriculture have been awarded by LEBENSMITTEL PRAXIS and International Green Week for the second time.
