Dear Sir or Madam,
The International Green Week starts in two days and we are looking forward to welcoming guests from all over the world in our halls again.
Already today, the agricultural policy year starts with several program items that you should not miss and that you can also conveniently follow via stream.
Opening press conference
Today the traditional opening press conference starts at 11:00 a.m. and is thus the starting point for IGW 2023. This year it will again be broadcast live.
Joachim Rukwied, President of the German Farmers' Association, and Dr. Christian von Boetticher, Chairman of the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries, will inform you about the current situation in the agricultural and food industry. Dirk Hoffmann, Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe Berlin GmbH, will talk about the latest facts and figures on this year's International Green Week.
You can find the livestream on our IGW LinkedIn or YouTube channel as well as our website. Choose your favorite channel and follow the press conference from the Messe Berlin studio. (stream in germand only)
Agricultural policy start of the year
In keeping with a long-standing tradition, the German Farmers' Association's Digital Agricultural Policy Annual Kick-Off is taking place today in the run-up to the Green Week. The aim is to put the topics of agriculture and food on the political agenda and to give the leaders of the parliamentary groups represented in the German Bundestag the opportunity to present their priorities and goals for the coming year.
In addition to agricultural and food policy issues, it also deals with climate, economic, environmental and SME policy issues. Security of supply can no longer be taken for granted.
The digital panel will be moderated by Thomas Kreutzmann.
GFFA
From 18 - 21 January, the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) will take place in parallel with the Green Week.
The international meeting of young farmers kicks off today, which is aimed exclusively at invited guests and is therefore not open to the public.
Tomorrow then, on 19.01.2023 the official opening of the GFFA will take place in the City Cube on the exhibition grounds in the time 14.30 clock to 15.00 clock. You can find the stream of the event here. The opening will mark the official launch of GFFA 2023 with an exchange between renowned experts from the global agriculture and food sector from politics, business, academia and civil society under the guiding theme "Transforming Food Systems: A global response to multiple crises".
