The International Green Week
Since 1926 - one of a kind
The International Green Week Berlin is one of the most traditional trade fairs nationwide and one of the best-known events in Germany. Founded in 1926 in the Berlin of the Golden Twenties, it is unique as the leading international trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture. Exhibitors from all over the world present an extensive range of products on ten event days. In addition, the IGW gives current social issues such as climate protection, circular economy, resource conservation and sustainable land use a stage. The 87th edition of the Green Week will take place from January 20 to 29, 2023.
Where tradition and future meet
The IGW is the starting point for the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA for short). The GFFA is the leading international conference on key issues for the future of the global agriculture and food industry. The highlight is the meeting of more than 70 ministers of agriculture.
So come by and visit us in January, and enjoy Green Week. We’re looking forward to your visit!

January’s media event
January in Berlin can be very cold, the perfect time for warming up at Green Week, a truly unique media event. Each year countless media providers report about the innovations and products of this Berlin-based institution. In Germany alone over 19,000 articles, 1,100 radio spots and 700 TV reports were published about last year’s IGW. Over 3,000 journalists from around 75 countries are accredited for the IGW each year.
The Davos of Agribusiness
Green Week offers an extensive supporting program. Every year more than 300 forums, seminars, conferences and committee meetings take place. Some of the events sponsored by agricultural and food industry commissions took place over a period of several days.
Highlights of the Supporting Program:
- GFFA - Global Forum for Food and Agriculture
- Future Forum for Rural Development
In terms of agricultural policy, the importance of the exhibition is clearly demonstrated by the presence of 200 international ministers and secretaries of state.
