young generation hub, Startup-Days, student press conference - Day 6 of Grüne Woche is all about the "young and wild". Until Friday, trainees from the region will be showcasing their professions in trade, crafts and gastronomy at the young generation hub (Hall 6.2b). The winner of the Startup-Days will be chosen tonight on the stage in the EventFarm (Hall 3.2). 10 finalists have been presenting their innovative ideas for the agtech and food industry since yesterday. The student press conference afterwards will focus on the question: "How does agriculture affect the climate?". A female farmer, a male farmer, climate experts and a representative of the German Rural Women's Association will answer the students' questions. Welcome to day six of Grüne Woche 2024.

Trying things out, getting stuck in and getting involved is the motto of the young generation hub. In the video, trainees from the trades, retail and agriculture talk about what they love about their job and what there is to experience at the young generation hub.

Every year, Grüne Woche and Lebensmittel Praxis honor sustainable regional concepts from the food trade with the Regional Star Award. The focus here is on products and concepts that are not only new and innovative, but also leave an ecological footprint to be proud of. A leap forward for the palate and the environment. Yesterday was the award winning ceremony.

The Central European countries are not only exhibiting classics at Grüne Woche, but also lots of innovative food and new technologies. In the Swiss hall, an AI bartender will not only amaze school classes with non-alcoholic drinks. The twelve provinces of the Netherlands will be showing what is possible with field beans, lupins and animal welfare.

Brandenburg is presenting a varied range of beverages at Grüne Woche. Traditional companies are just as much a part of it as imaginative founders. While they source most of their raw materials from the region, the ideas for their products often come from overseas.

It has become a tradition for Dietmar Woidke to wield the baton at Grüne Woche and sing the unofficial state anthem "Märkische Heide" on Brandenburg Day. Beforehand, the head of the state had already sampled Spreewald gherkins, tapped smoked beer, posed with the Brandenburg Harvest Queen and was serenaded by the Finsterwald choir singers.
