Immerse yourself in the world of organic farming (Hall 22a)

The tour starts in Hall 22a, where the organic farming and food industry showcases the diversity of sustainable nutrition under the motto ‘Experience organic. Enjoy home.’ Here, visitors can see how sustainable food production, processing and marketing are shaping a future worth living. One focus is on regionality and ecological principles. Farmers and associations convey these in a very practical way.

In addition to exciting information on sustainable plant and animal production, hands-on activities, tastings of regional organic products and cooking shows provide variety. Visitors of all ages can, for example, milk a life-size cow or discover the diversity of organic products in workshops and hands-on activities. The organic hall shows that organic farming is innovative, future-oriented and brings sustainability directly to visitors.

Technology, animal welfare & enjoyment: FMAFRI (Hall 23a)

Further on in Hall 23a, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity’s will be demonstrating how sustainable nutrition and modern agriculture work together under the motto ‘Strengthening agriculture, shaping the future, securing nutrition’. A real eye-catcher is the four-metre-high talking refrigerator from the ‘Too good for the bin!’ initiative, which shows how we can all reduce the amount of food we throw away. Cooking demonstrations will turn leftovers into delicious dishes, and visitors can experience the diversity of flavours at the herb stations through touch and smell tests. There will also be insights into modern agriculture: an electric tractor, innovative cultivation methods and digital tools for animal husbandry will show how technology and sustainability are being implemented.

From moors to exhibition floors: sustainable surprises (Hall 27)

The tour continues in Hall 27, where the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety is showing how forests, moors, soils, floodplains, seas and urban green spaces contribute to climate protection under the motto ‘Strengthen, restore, preserve’. There is a particular focus on the protection of moors as a sustainable business model. Exhibits, hands-on activities, quizzes and the stage programme provide practical tips for everyday life.

Right next door is the ZERO theme island – a meeting place for innovation and sustainable solutions. From vegan products such as organic glasses to creative approaches to animal welfare and environmental protection, the diversity of sustainability is on display. An eye-catcher is the exhibition floor made from recycled old tyre mats. Illustrative formats clearly show how current research, precise plant protection, resource-saving agriculture and animal welfare-oriented husbandry work together to contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Adventure Farm: Agriculture of Tomorrow (Hall 3.2)

We continue in Hall 3.2, where the German Farmers' Association (DBV) is providing practical insights into current and future challenges in agriculture under the motto ‘Securing food supplies. Protecting nature.’ Sustainable cycles, efficient nutrient management and innovative technologies, from AI-supported farming technology and autonomous machines to sustainable plant breeding, come to life here. At interactive stations and adventure trails, visitors can discover how research, precise plant protection, resource-saving arable farming and animal welfare-oriented husbandry work together. Step by step, an inspiring view of tomorrow's agriculture opens up – responsible, transparent and forward-looking.

The joint stand ‘Zukunft schmeckt’ (The future tastes good) by the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and the German Food Association shows how diversity and innovation secure our food supply. Trends, creative solutions and new approaches can not only be viewed, but also tasted.

Global food security visualised (Hall 7.2c)

The tour concludes at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Under the motto #ICHWILLFAIR (I want fair), it shows how fair food and sustainable supply chains are possible worldwide. In the shopping simulator, visitors can take on the perspective of a smallholder family from the Ivory Coast and understand how important conscious purchasing decisions are for fair wages. Insightful glimpses into the cocoa supply chain, from harvest to finished product, and a 360-degree film about the connection between nutrition and climate, using Madagascar as an example, show the global dimensions of sustainability.
