The taste of Germany - East Edition
In addition to start-ups, innovations and sustainable tourism, the eastern German states also offer many delicacies. From the Spreewald gherkin to the superfood hemp, there is much to discover.
Good things are so close - especially from a Berlin perspective, there is much to discover in the eastern part of Germany. At the IGW, the eastern German states will show just how diverse their tourist and culinary offerings are.
Berlin
Berlin is focusing on "creative & innovative" - so in addition to long-established Berlin companies such as "Curry 36" or the "Schokoladenhaus Rausch", the new delivery service "Zoomfresh", which delivers Asian dinner in cooking boxes, will also be at IGW 2023. "Itgan Food" has made a name for itself with hummus and Turkish specialties, which visitors can sample in Hall 22a, and those who are more in search of something sweet will find what they are looking for at the cupcake confectionery "Tigertörtchen." At the company "ORIGO", which stands for origin, it's less about eating and more about tasting and drinking. The company presents the ORIGO coffee secret: very mildly roasted coffee that visitors can smell, taste and enjoy. Those who need a little more spice can also try the award-winning and handmade hot sauce "Crazy Bastard".

Brandenburg
Since 1991 and thus for more than 30 years the exhibitors from Brandenburg are present at the International Green Week. The mostly small and medium-sized companies often use the fair as a test market and want to get into conversation with consumers. Because in addition to traditional brands and products such as Spreewald gherkins, Beelitz asparagus, wine and sea buckthorn, new things are always tried out in Brandenburg Hall 21a: in 2023, two stands are reserved for the industry's startups. Who will be there is currently still a secret. The Brandenburg Hall is always also a platform for talks, 2023 on topics such as food appreciation and agriculture of the future.

Saxony
Seasonal, regional and organic are the themes of Saxony Hall 21b. Saxony is presenting itself as a land of pleasure and travel at IGW 2023, so exhibitors have a wide range of (bio)regional specialties in their luggage and visitors will not only be able to experience refined nibbles to convince themselves of Saxony's culture of pleasure.

Saxony-Anhalt
Saxony-Anhalt is focusing on top-class entertainment in Hall 23b. Especially the changing theme days around the regions Altmark and Börde but also the economy and agriculture in Saxony-Anhalt should attract numerous visitors to the Saxony-Anhalt Hall. In the sign of the innovation spirit of the country the universities and research facilities from Saxonia-Anhalt present themselves and because also a clever head must eat and drink something sometimes, there are Baumkuchenspezialitäten and select wines Made in Saxonia-Anhalt. As a special trend product, the exhibitors will bring the superfood "hemp" to IGW 2023 - whether as candied hemp nuts, hemp seeds or freshly pressed hemp oil from the hemp press.

Thuringia
Thuringia will be present at International Green Week 2023 with around 45 exhibitors - direct marketers and associations as well as districts. In addition to traditional companies, attention will be focused on smaller businesses in the sector. Here, Thuringia is focusing above all on regionality and presenting the products in stylized farm stores to highlight the importance of consciously purchasing regional goods. As the focal district in 2023, the Weimarer Land is presenting itself in the center of the Thüringenhalle and is putting the thematic focus on "sustainable tourism in rural areas". With a Tiny House and a prototype of recycled off-road furniture for cycling and hiking trails, the district will show visitors how resource-saving and climate-friendly tourism can work.
