Living the Green

We’re boiling over with excitement for the 100th anniversary of Grüne Woche. To celebrate this milestone, we bring the full diversity, color and energy of the fair directly to our Home Green Home area in Hall 27. The result is a unique fusion of food, culture and entertainment – 10 days full of creativity and culinary inspiration.

A Century of Flavors

Our stage takes you around the world and straight back to Berlin. To mark the anniversary, we present the “Grünwochler” – a signature dish combining a Berliner Pfannkuchen, Döner and curry sauce in one bite. Another exclusive highlight is the Knabe Kola Kurrywurst, refined with an authentic Berlin soda.

International acts from the Netherlands, Scotland and South Korea bring music and global flavors to the stage. On Saturday, January 24, DoktorFroid takes over with a show blending cooking, crafts and chaos. Additional thrills await during the annual Sägecup.

Of Manga & Miso – 12th Open Berlin Cosplay Championship

On January 17, Japan takes center stage: The 12th Open Berlin Cosplay Championship transforms the entire Home Green Home area into a colorful world of anime, manga and live performances – accompanied by the Manga Cosplay Action Day from 10 am to 6 pm.

A vibrant program invites visitors to join a variety of workshops, from crafting and sewing to cooking and dancing. Learn Para Para Dance or discover the ingredients that make an authentic Japanese ramen. The highlight of the day is the Cosplay Championship itself.

Whether Japan feels like your second home or you’re discovering it for the first time – everyone is welcome. Sayonara Doitsu – Konnichiwa Nihon.

Three cosplayers stand in a convention hall: on the left a person with a green wig, in the center a person in a white-red costume, and on the right a person in an orange suit with an eyepatch.

Bavarian Wake-Up Call – Opening Tradition

Trumpets, tubas, traditional costumes and Bavarian charm: Every morning at the opening of Grüne Woche, a Bavarian brass band welcomes the first visitors. This musical greeting marks the daily start of the stage program.

How to Onigiri – School Workshops

On selected days, school workshops with Mori teach students how to prepare Onigiri – customizable, easy to make and always delicious.

Startup-Days

During the Startup-Days, from 20-21 of January, young companies from the agriculture and food sectors present their ideas for a more sustainable future. Enjoy short interviews – including the previous year’s winner ValueGrain – inspiring talks such as “GrünerEssen”, “GrünerInvestieren” or “GrünerKI”, and two compact pitch sessions showcasing innovative solutions for farming and nutrition.

A special feature is “Mal nachgefragt” (“Let’s Ask”), an open dialogue with exhibitors from the ZERO innovation island, representing resource-efficient and forward-thinking concepts.

Here you can find the programme.
