The 88th edition of Grüne Woche kicks off today at 6 p.m. with the opening event ceremony in the CityCube Berlin! And while the final stand construction work is still being carried out in the exhibition halls, the agricultural policy year has already begun.

On the press side, Grüne Woche began yesterday with the opening press conference. Guests included Joachim Rukwied, President of the German Farmers' Association, Christoph Minhoff, Managing Director of the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and Dr. Mario Tobias, CEO of Messe Berlin GmbH, who discussed the current situation in the agricultural and food industry and reported on facts and figures for the upcoming Grüne Woche.

In keeping with tradition, the German Farmers' Association's annual agricultural policy kick-off took place yesterday. In the run-up to the Grüne Woche, the burning issues of agriculture were put on the political agenda and the parliamentary group chairmen of the parties represented in the German Bundestag had the opportunity to present their priorities and goals for the coming year.

From January 17 - 20, the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) will take place parallel to Grüne Woche under the motto ''Food systems of the future: Together for a world without hunger''. The official opening of the GFFA will take place from 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the CityCube Berlin on the exhibition grounds and will also be available via a stream.
