Dear Sir or Madam,
every year, thousands of passengers travel to Grüne Woche by bus. Early in the morning, experienced bus drivers bring travelers safely to Berlin—and their working day does not end until the evening. Well-coordinated bus logistics therefore play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the trade fair.
Good preparation is essential for travel and bus companies: clear routes, structured processes, reliable information. To provide you with the best possible support, this newsletter offers exclusive insights behind the scenes.
We spoke with Klaus Seipold, dispatcher for Grüne Woche 2025. He was responsible for coordinating the arrival and departure of the buses as well as operations on the exhibition grounds. His experience and tips offer concrete guidance for your planning for Grüne Woche 2026.

Interview with Klaus Seipold – Tips and experiences from bus transport in 2025
What are the biggest challenges in coordinating the many coaches carrying thousands of passengers during Grüne Woche?
Every year, we do not know in advance how bus transport will unfold. Various circumstances, such as the traffic situation or the weather, can pose challenges.
Since up to 150 buses bring visitors to the P18 parking lot on Jaffestraße every day during Grüne Woche, it is important to provide bus companies with comprehensive information about routes and procedures in advance. Our team does everything it can to ensure smooth access and quick processing. To this end, we request the preferred departure time for the afternoon and issue corresponding access permits (time slots).
As there is only limited space available on site, only buses with a valid time slot are allowed to enter for the return journey. Quickly directing passengers to the correct buses helps to free up the space again without delay. We often have to find short-term solutions in cases of missing passengers or other unforeseen situations in order to minimize disruptions to operations.
Responsible and flexible staff are a key factor for success in this regard.
Are there any general tips and advice for arrival, departure, and parking during Grüne Woche?
When arriving, follow the signs and the instructions given by the security and traffic staff. Please ensure that passengers only disembark at parking lot P18.
Due to the limited number of bus parking spaces, please also use the parking lots at the Olympiastadion and on the side road of Heerstraße.

Transporting 40 to 50 passengers requires concentration and strong nerves. How would you assess the conditions for bus transport at the exhibition grounds in Berlin?
We strive to optimize bus transport and service as much as possible through thorough advance planning and the many years of experience gained from previous events. Discussions with bus drivers and visitors help us to respond even better to their needs and continuously improve our processes.
Fortunately, the feedback we receive every year shows that we are on the right track.
We therefore look forward to welcoming many bus drivers back to the exhibition grounds for the next Grüne Woche in 2026.
