Dungeons, dumplings and dragons on the the Grüne Woche Stage

Under the motto ‘Home Green Home’, the Grüne Woche Stage combines gaming, cookery shows and environmental topics with a high level of interaction. Participation is expressly encouraged.

The children are immediately ready and rush to the front. The adults are still hesitant when Florian Jindra invites them to play along on the Grüne Woche stage in Hall 27.

‘These are all games that you can learn in just a few seconds,’ promises Florian, who founded the LudeCat gaming event ten years ago, a video game tournament in which the audience participates directly. People can play with and against each other. ‘In the best case scenario, grandma plays with her grandson,’ says Florian Jindra. LudeCat aims to break down prejudices against computer games. The focus is on social interaction.

The entry level is low-threshold: there is a screen next to the stage where participants can practise before going on stage. ‘Must Dash Amigos’ is currently playing, which looks a bit like Mario Kart on foot. Instead of red tanks, mushrooms and bananas, there are bulls, burritos and avocados. Four people can always play. Shoutcaster Benjamin Buchtala comments on the action. His enthusiastic voice and the joy of the participants quickly attract more interested people.

Even the pros play Farming Simulator

To the left of the stage, there is a gaming area from xperion with lots of farming-related games, including the latest version of the Farming Simulator. ‘Even the farmers themselves play it because it's so realistic,’ says Maurice Lange, who is known as YouTuber, gamer and passionate cook under the name Mori and is a daily chef and presenter on the Grüne Woche stage.

The programme is varied. Almost every day there is a ‘Brain Battle’ with various questions about Grüne Woche, sustainability and gaming, such as: How much time do children and young people spend on average per day playing video games? ‘We want the programme to appeal to as many target groups as possible,’ says Vivien Knappik, Marketing and Event Communications Manager at FACTORY-C, which is organising the stage programme in Hall 27 together with Grüne Woche.

On Monday, Mori and a chef from the British Embassy will be demonstrating just how diverse Scottish food can be. On Tuesday and Wednesday, start-ups from the fields of agricultural technology and food will be presenting their innovative products as part of the Startup Days programme. Children and young people will also be able to put their questions to the founders.

On Thursday at 12.30 pm, the A-GAIN Guide will show how clothing can be creatively upgraded and given a new lease of life, and from 2.15 pm, Dr Jori Marx and Dr Julia Ellerbrok, authors of the book ‘Faktencheck Artenvielfalt’ (Biodiversity Fact Check), will talk about biodiversity in everyday products.

On Long Friday there will be zero waste hacks for everyday life (11.00 am), at 3.45 pm Mori Dumplings will be cooking with streamer Sola, before Fabian Siegismund and Katazuri are guests at the weekend, as well as the crew from questdnd for a dungeon-and-dragons adventure live at Grüne Woche.

The full programme, including the Saw Cup Challenge and Climate Protection on a Plate, can be found here: https://www.gruenewoche.de/en/events/program/buehne. Individual sessions will be streamed on Mori09TV on Twitch and on the channels of the participating influencers.
